I Saw Her Standing There 02. Misery 03. Anna 04. Chains 05. Boys 06. Ask Me Why 07. Please Please Me 08. Love Me Do 09. PS I Love You 10. Baby It's You 11. Do You Want To Know A Secret 12. A Taste Of Honey 13. Theres A Place 14. Twist & Shout The first two issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow & black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text & retained the small '33 1/3' after the matrix number of the first two pressings. The second yellow & black removed the small '33 1/3' print. This is therefore technically the fifth issue, still from 1963 and still with matrix numbers ending -1. The labels: Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Recording First Published' label text. As this is a 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label. The labels have some light spindle wear to reveal play evident but remain bright and clean with no paper loss. The Sleeve: The G&L front laminated flipback picture sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo on the front. The sleeve overall benefits from crisp clean laminate & rich colours, whilst all text is clearly legible, including the spine. There are no tears or splits. There is a vintage faded price sticker on the reverse as well as a few spots of discolouration, but nothing to obscure the text. Vinyl: The vinyl has a moderate amount of scuffing, however nothing particularly severe or deep leaving it a nice VG copy. This copy also comes with the 'Use Emitex' inner. An iconic classic from the Fabs that should be in everyone's record collection, this is a great chance to own a superb, if not perfect, copy of this elusive fifth pressing at an advantageous price!
